It all started when station manager Cecil Glass played the first song on WVHM, “I Am In His Care” by Palmetto State. That was June 30, 1989, over 25 years ago. The ministry of WVHM was born after years of prayer and planning. Today, the station has grown from a small signal that covered three counties to a 16,500-watt station with coverage across western Kentucky, northwest Tennessee and far southern Illinois. One translator is currently in operation at 89.1 FM in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Like our sister stations WAAJ and WTRT, WVHM is a ministry first – a ministry that happens to be a radio station. We are supported by listeners, churches, and businesses who believe in what we do. That includes providing music and programming that makes our community a better place.
Heartland Ministries, the parent non-profit, non-stock corporation of WVHM, is a 501 (c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
