Concerts and Singings

The 32nd Annual American Cancer Society Gospel Music Benefit will be held on Thursday, August 7th, 2025 at First Methodist Church in Metropolis, IL. It will feature a performance by Tribute Quartet. The concert is free and one hundred percent of the free will offering taken will be given to ACS for cancer research. The church is located at 100 E 5th St, Metropolis, IL 62960.

Higher Praise will be in concert at the Ohio County Fairgrounds Senior Building (AARP) on Friday, August 8th at 7 pm. 

The Kingsmen Quartet will be in concert on Sunday, August 10th at 1:30 pm at Green Grove Baptist Church located at 33 Green Road in Providence, KY. The Collingsworth Family will be in concert at Heartland Church in Paducah, KY on Thursday, August 14th at 7 pm as a part of their “Classics and Hymns Tour.” Tickets can be found online.

The third Friday of each month, Kentucky Opry hosts an evening of southern gospel music presented by Southern Gospel Singers United. On Friday, August 15, The Childress Family and For Heaven’s Sake will be in concert. A love offering will be received. More information is available at 270-527-3869.

Gold City Quartet will be at Fredonia Baptist Church on their 45th anniversary tour on Friday, August 22nd at 7 pm. Admission is free. The church is located at 208 Cassidy Ave Fredonia, KY 42411.

The Mark Trammell Quartet will be in concert at this year’s “Black Patch Gospel Singing” at First Baptist Church in Princeton, KY on Saturday, September 6th at 6 pm.  Admission is free.

Revival, Homecoming, and Other Services

New Concord Baptist Church in Melber is holding its homecoming service on Sunday, August 10. The worship service begins at 11:00, with guest speaker Rick Walker. A fellowship meal will follow the service, and Carolina The Band will be singing at 1:30. Information is available at 270-705-3551.

Vanzora Baptist Church located at 1981 Vanzora Road in Benton, KY is having its revival on Sunday, August 24th at 11am and 5:30 pm, and Monday, August 25th-Wednesday, August 27th at 6:30 each night. Brother Alan Morris will be the evangelist. All are invited to attend.

Community

Altona Baptist Church is hosting another “Classics: VBS for the Young at Heart” with this year’s theme “Rockin’ Thru the 50’s.”  It will be held Tuesday, August 5th-Thursday August 7th. Vanzora Baptist Church located at 1982 Vanzora Rd in Benton, KY is having a “Wild Game Dinner” on Friday, August 22 in their gym. They will be serving deer, duck, goose, pheasant, dove, racoon, squirrel, rabbit, elk and for the more adventurous, mystery meat. BBQ, pork and hot dogs will be served as well. Brother Alan Morris will be giving the message. There will be special guests and drawings for hunting accessories, and many other gifts for men, women and children. There will be a “Senior Adult Rally” on Friday, September 5th at 4 pm at Altona Baptist Church in Calvert City, KY. Cost is $8.00 per person with a fish fry provided by Neil’s Catering. Adrienne Lee will be the musical guest. To register, call 270-437-4203.

The Equip Practical Training & Prepared Leaders led by the Kentucky Baptist Convention will be held at Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY on August 19th at 5 pm. Cost $15 per person with a maximum fee of $75 per church with dinner included. EQUIP will cover training in each of the following areas: Assimilation, Children’s Ministry, Cooperative Program, Deacon Ministry, Discipleship, Evangelism, Finance, Missions, Revitalization, Social Media, Students, Sunday School, WMU, Women’s Ministry and Worship and Music.
