Revival, Homecoming, and Other Services

Liberty Baptist Church, at 7581 State Route 1241 in Hickory, is holding revival services through Wednesday, September 22. Gary Taylor, pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church in Hopkins County, will be the guest speaker. Services begin at 11:00 Sunday morning and 7:00 each evening Monday through Wednesday.

The Reidland-Farley Baseball and Softball Association is holding a trunk or treat and chili cookoff Saturday, October 23, from 5:00 until 9:00 at Reidland Ball Park, at 1075 Said Road in Reidland. Generations Adult Day Services, a non-profit Christian organization serving older adults and persons with disabilities, is currently hiring. Generations Adult Day Services is located in Mayfield and offers a relaxed, non-traditional nursing environment where the primary responsibility is providing the “medicine” of socialization and laughter. This position is best suited for persons with a love of working with older adults/persons with disabilities and who have a heart to serve in a faith-based organization. American Legion Post 236 in Calvert City is hosting their annual turkey shoot beginning Friday, October 1. Events will be held each Friday evening through February, beginning at 6:00.

Covenant Ranch in Buchanan, Tennessee is hosting the Ironman Weekend Men’s Retreat October 1 and 2. Joe Bufford will be the keynote speaker and Dave Sekura will be the teen pastor. Activities will include archery, firearm competitions, defense competitions, hiking, sports, and more. The registration deadline is September 20. Meals and lodging are included in the registration cost. Tent camping is available on site at not cost. Pastors may attend for free. Calvert City’s Fall Fun Fest will be held Saturday, October 2, from 9:00 until 4:00, at Memorial Park. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Walk will be held Saturday, October 2, from 10:00 to noon on the campus of WKCTC. Out of the Darkness Walks give people the courage to open up about their own connections to the cause, and a platform to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.
